Anna Forrester is an editor and a creative person based in Athens, GA.
Her art revolves around mapmaking, outdoorscapes, place portraits, and local and regional illustrations, all of which intersect with the thing she loves most—long-distance foot travel. She’s hiked the Pacific Crest Trail across California, Oregon, and Washington; the Kumano Kodo across Japan’s Kii Peninsula; and the Appalachian Trail southeast.
Stylistically, her work is influenced by her doctoral background in renaissance English literature: she loves working in line drawing and densely stylized maps, characteristic, respectively, of early modern woodcuts and seventeenth-century cartography.
She lives with her her husband Chase in Pulaski, where they enjoy playing board games, sitting on their front porch, and learning Japanese.
